South Lounge Bar
Introducing the NEW South Lounge Bar, a stunning focal point adjacent to the lobby at Chatham Bars Inn. This vintage, reclaimed wooden bar from the 1800s has been carefully restored and now anchors the beloved South Lounge, offering comfortable seating, a grand fireplace, ocean views, and French doors opening to the newly expanded Bayview Terrace.
At Chatham Bars Inn, the beverage program is a sophisticated tribute to timeless cocktails, refined wines, and regional craftsmanship. The *Iconic Cocktails Through the Decades* collection offers a journey through cocktail history—each drink reimagined with local elegance.
The “Hot Honey Bee’s Knees” revisits a 1920s Prohibition classic with farm-sourced hot honey, while the “Salted Watermelon Margarita” adds a fresh twist to a 1930s Daisy-style favorite. The “Hemingway Daiquiri”, made with the Inn’s private barrel rum, honors mid-century Havana. From the 1950s, the “Sea to Martini” infuses sea kelp and cucumber for a crisp coastal take, and the “Cape Rosé Sangria” captures the vibrant spirit of the 1970s. Later decades bring the “Cosmopolifoam”, a cranberry-forward reinvention of the Cosmopolitan, and the “Modern Old Fashioned”, featuring Jefferson’s Bourbon and Cape Cod cranberry bitters.
Equally thoughtful are the spirit-free selections. The "Amarena Spritz" and "Kombujito" offer complex, refreshing alternatives, paired with de-alcoholized wines from Oddbird and Ariel, and craft NA beers from Athletic Brewing.
The wine list highlights exceptional pours by the stem, from Champagne and Burgundy to Napa and Galicia, while New England craft beers and ciders showcase local character.
The "Sacred List" crowns the program with rare spirits like Van Winkle 12-Year, Glenmorangie 25-Year, and 1943 Sempe Armagnac—each sip a celebration of history and craftsmanship.
This is more than a menu—it’s an invitation to savor tradition, innovation, and the luxury of time well spent.
