Erik Pohls – Director of Tennis
Meet Erik Pohls, our Director of Tennis, dedicated to building strong relationships to achieve maximum results.
A native of Laguna Beach, CA, Erik now resides in Naples, FL, and is in his fifth year as part of the elite tennis pro staff at Kensington Country Club. With 29 years of coaching experience, Erik holds multiple certifications, including RSPA Elite 1, USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association), ICI (International Coaches Institute), and RPT (Registro Profesional de Tenis).
His journey in tennis began as a top junior player in both the U.S. and Colombia, eventually leading him to coach some of the highest-ranking junior players nationally and internationally. As a touring coach, he travels to state and national tournaments with his elite junior players. In 2012, while coaching in Alabama, Erik was the runner-up for the USTA and USPTA Professional of the Year award.
Beyond developing top-tier junior players, Erik enjoys coaching adults. Before joining Kensington CC, he spent five years as the Senior Tennis Pro at Bay Colony Club in Naples, FL, and worked at prestigious clubs in the Hamptons, Chicago, and Toronto. Erik brings passion, energy, and creativity to every lesson. When he's not on the court, you’ll likely find him at the gym or spending time with his family—his wife of 20 years, Veronica, and their 9-year-old son, Elias.
Daria Savulescu – Tennis Pro
Meet Daria Savulescu, a Romanian tennis professional and student-athlete, Daria is defined by a rigorous Eastern European work ethic and a lifelong passion for the sport. She began her competitive career at just five years old, competing internationally and refining her strategic game under the guidance of top-tier coaches.
Daria has established a strong presence within Cape Cod’s premier tennis community. She held successful residencies at Chequessett in 2023 and Wequassett in 2025, and is thrilled to return to the Chatham Bars Inn team for the 2026 season.
On the court, Daria is known for her infectious enthusiasm and her ability to connect with players of all ages. Her coaching philosophy focuses on technical precision, mental toughness, and tactical strategy, fostering a high-energy environment where guests can reach their full potential.
If she’s not on the court, you’ll likely find Daria enjoying the local Cape landscape or focusing on her studies as a dedicated student-athlete.
John Brodeur - Tennis Pro
Meet John Brodeur, a 19-year-old student-athlete from Estero, Florida, John has been immersed in the world of tennis for over a decade. Currently a member of the Ave Maria University Men’s Tennis Team, he is finishing his freshman year as a Finance major and preparing to transition into his sophomore season.
For John, tennis has been a foundational force in developing the discipline, competitiveness, and work ethic he carries both on and off the court. This dedication extends to his academic pursuits, where he is focused on mastering the fundamentals of business to build a strong professional future.
Returning to the courts of Cape Cod, John brings a high-energy perspective to the game, helping players refine their skills through the same rigorous standards he applies to his own collegiate training.
If he’s not on the court or studying for his finance exams he is likely at church or spending time at the beach with friends.
