Northeast Flower Dyeworks Class at the Chatham Bars Inn Farm

A hands-on workshop where you will work with nature’s dyes that derive from natural products such as flowers, trees, and plants.

Join Rebecca Zaremba of Northeast Dyeworks for an exploration in bundle dyeing. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create beautiful, lasting color and prints on fabric using locally sourced flowers and leaves.

We’ll begin with an introduction to the foundations of natural dyeing, including how to properly prepare your fabric and which plants yield the best results. Then, we’ll head out to harvest flowers from the farm and use them to design your own unique piece. You’ll learn how to thoughtfully arrange plant materials, bundle your fabric, and steam it to reveal stunning botanical prints.

At the end of this two-hour workshop, you’ll take home a custom silk scarf of your own creation—along with the skills and confidence to continue experimenting with natural dyes on your own.

No experience necessary—beginners are welcome!
