Location: Chatham, MA (On-site) | Type: Full-time | Hourly Range: $36.00 / hr - $40.00 / hr.

The Role

The Resort Kitchen Appliance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen appliances across the resort’s dining venues. This includes ensuring all equipment functions efficiently and safely in order to support daily food service operations.

Other Responsibilities Include:

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues with kitchen appliances and refrigeration units.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment such as: Commercial ovens, stoves, grills, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, dishwashers, food processors, and other small appliances.
• Install new appliances and ensure proper setup and calibration.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with culinary and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Respond to emergency repair requests promptly, including nights/weekends if needed.
• Assist with equipment upgrades and renovations during off-peak seasons.

Key Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial kitchen appliance repair (2+ years preferred).
• Technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or appliance repair is a plus.
• Qualified to work with natural gas.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.

The responsibilities of the General Maintenance Technician include but are not limited to performing general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms/suites, meeting space, restaurant and common areas. The General Maintenance Technician will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and kitchen equipment.  

Responsibilities:

• Responds to engineering and maintenance concerns as requested by Chief Engineer and/or the Director of Property Operations
• Performs and/or monitors maintenance and preventative maintenance
• projects through the company’s Knowcross PM system with follow through when the project is completed
• Responds to all building related safety concerns
• Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures at all times
• Maintains compliance with zoning rules and regulations
• Adheres to all safety standards put forth by Chatham Bars Inn and OSHA

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC required
• Hotel or Resort experience preferred
• Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekend, holiday and evening shifts.
• Excellent Communication skills required with staff & guests
• Valid Driver’s license required
• Well organized with the ability to work in a fast pace environment
• Fluency in English (verbal/written) is necessary, ability to speak additional languages is desired but not required.
