Chatham Bars Inn Cooking School

Whether you are already an accomplished at-home Chef or someone who has been wanting to sharpen up your cooking skills or learn something new, join our Chatham Bars Inn Cooking School. Our classes take place every Thursday and include instruction, tastings and a fully prepared family-style meal. Menu changes weekly, classes are held 6pm - 8pm and are $65 per person plus tax and gratuity unless otherwise noted.

October 3 - Tacos


Join us as we prepare to celebrate National Taco Day (Oct. 4th). You will learn all the tricks of the trade from salsas to slaws, taking your “Taco Tuesday” game to a whole new level, just in time for National Taco Day. The class concludes with a festive family-style meal where you will try all your newly made creations. It will be a true fiesta!


October 10 - No Class


October 17 - Pasta (National Pasta Day)


Pasta is always a crowd-pleaser and this class will teach you how to transform raw ingredients into incredible pasta dishes. Whether you like cooking, working with your hands, or if your focus is more on eating Italian style, this class will highlight all three culminating in a sit-down meal to taste all your creations. What better way to celebrate National Pasta Day?!


October 24 - Seafood


Chatham’s seafood is well known throughout the region and this class will feature the best of what our local area has to offer. Learn to make easy and delicious dishes focusing on seafood caught right here. The class will conclude with a family- style meal where you can enjoy what you’ve created. Join us for this pier-to-plate experience!


October 31 - Fall Squash


Celebrate Halloween with us as we focus on one of the biggest parts of the holiday - the pumpkins! Join in as we tackle squash, pumpkins, and other fall vegetables and bring them to light in a whole new way. Conclude the class by sitting down and enjoying the fall feast you just created. We promise it won’t be “scary”!


November 7 - Fall Pasta


Pasta – it’s so much more than just flour and eggs. Centered around the flavors of fall, this pasta class will not only teach you pasta-making techniques, but also great sauces and accompaniments to serve with the pasta, perfect for the upcoming colder months. End your lesson with a sit-down dinner where you and your fellow newly inspired chefs have the opportunity to enjoy all your hard work!


November 14 - Crash Course on Thanksgiving


Don’t be intimidated by creating a holiday meal for your family and friends. Join us as our Chef leads you through a full crash course on how to take on Thanksgiving with half the stress and double the flavor. Enjoy a tasting of all the holiday classics at the end of the class and leave ready to take on that bird…and the family.


November 21 - Culinary Bootcamp- Back to Basics


Rewind and start at the beginning. The best way to assure success in the kitchen is to first make sure you’re brilliant at the basics. Learn the correct techniques and practice them all – you will chop, dice, sauté, sear… you name it! Let us arm you with all the little tricks you need to feel confident taking on any recipe this holiday season or all year!


November 28 - No Class


December 5 - Christmas Cookies (Note: dinner is NOT included with this class)


Baking cookies that are delicious and beautiful will get you an invitation to every holiday party in town. Join our pastry chef to learn all the secrets to successful baking. Dinner is not included with this class, but you will leave with 3 dozen cookies to dazzle your family and friends. How sweet it is!


December 12 - Holiday Entertaining Cocktail Collab with Adam, food to go with his drinks


What’s the holiday season without a cocktail party or two? Join us as we merge food and beverage together showcasing the perfect cocktail party creations for a stress-free soirée paired with the most creative and exciting seasonal cocktails. Enjoy tastings of our signature cocktails paired with all the savory snacks you create. (21+ for cocktail sampling.)


December 19 - Gadgets Galore- Must haves for your culinary Christmas wish list and how to use them


Attention all budding chefs and foodies: Get ready for the inside scoop on all the best gadgets to add to your collection just in time for your Christmas list. Learn the favorite tools our chefs arm themselves with to take on day-to-day prep and make cooking easier. In this class you will have the chance to test out these tools on recipes and taste all your creations. If you’re serious about cooking and your tools, you won’t want to miss this class!


December 26 - The “A”s to “Z”s of Cheese


Cheese, Glorious Cheese! From Asiago to Zamorano, there are thousands of types of cheese, one of the world’s most delicious and versatile foods. Join us as we highlight all things CHEESE in this fun class where you’ll learn from our expert team about dozens of different types of cheese, how to pair cheese with various foods, where to find the best or most elusive cheeses and how to turn them into amazingly tasty treats from appetizers to main courses to desserts. Say cheese!


Participation Level


All of the classes we offer feature groups preparing one or more dishes, contributing to the whole menu prepared by the entire class. Participants should feel comfortable working within a timeframe and from a recipe guided by the instructor, while also learning about the subject and observing other recipes being prepared. Each class will conclude with tasting of all the dishes.
