Whether you are already an accomplished at-home Chef or someone who has been wanting to sharpen up your cooking skills or learn something new, join our Chatham Bars Inn Cooking School. Our classes take place every Mondays and Thursdays and include instruction, tastings and a fully prepared family-style meal.


CHATHAM BARS INN COOKING SCHOOL SUMMER SCHEDULE:

Monday- Farm to Table Class


Every Monday starting July 1 through August 26 experience what our Chatham Bars Inn Farm has to offer while you cook a menu designed around what is ready to harvest that day. Start your day by joining our Chef Instructor for a guided tour of our eight-acre farm in Brewster from 9-10:30am. Get your hands dirty and harvest everything you need to create an incredible Farm to Table meal while having the chance to try some of the freshest produce around. Later that night meet back at the Inn and be part of a hands-on cooking class from 6-8pm. Test out your kitchen skills while we work together to create a wonderful meal showcasing all the beautiful fresh off the farm produce and conclude the class with a sit-down meal comprised of your bounty and taste how much of a difference the freshest of produce makes. The price is $100 per guest.

July 5 - Pasta


Come get your hands dirty and transform eggs and flour to a complete meal. Join us while we transform all raw ingredients into incredible pasta dishes. Whether you like cooking, working with your hands, or you focus more on the eating, this class which ends in a sit down taste of all you’ve created, is surely for you.

Get a taste of all our Chatham Bars Inn Farm has to offer in this class where we will use only the freshest local ingredients to execute classic and refreshing summer salads getting you ready to take on a summer of beach trips and outdoor parties. July 18 -Oyster Farm Tour and Cooking Class ($165/ Guest)


One of the greatest treats here on Cape Cod is the Oysters and here at Chatham Bars Inn we are lucky enough to work with one of the best oyster growers around. Join us at 3:15pm through 4:45pm for a tour of Oyster Pond where you can see where it all starts, then meet us back at the Inn for 6pm - 8pm Cooking Class where we will take the oysters we just saw grow and turn them into the star of our plates. Join us on a scenic and interactive oyster farm tour where you will later prepare your harvest. We begin at the tour at an historic shore-side facility on Oyster River. Here you will see how the operation comes full circle with freshly harvested oysters leaving the wholesale facility for local delivery and also see the seed oysters starting their journey in floating up-weller on the river. We then embark on a voyage via oyster barge up river to the Oyster Pond where the nursery and final grow-out lease are located. Here you will learn the various steps and processes of cultivating 1.5 mm oysters to a premium 3 inch finished product, discuss the ecological benefits of the farm and finally get to harvest your own oysters directly from the water. –Oyster Pond

Join in while we explore all the many ways one of summers biggest and best crops can be transformed and enjoyed. Try your hand at all the different techniques that can be applied to tomatoes and end the day with a full meal featuring the star of our show.

September 12 - Build Your Own Flatbreads


Flatbreads are the perfect summer meal so come in and become a pro on flatbreads of all kinds. From on the grill to in the oven learn how to perfectly execute the basics so you can go home ready to make it you own. Join in while we try our take on some of the tastiest creations and sit down with your class to try out what you’ve made.

Join in as we make our own taco party. Learn all the hacks from sauces to proteins and leave with a taste of what your at home taco night can become. Partake in family style meal to conclude the class where you will get to try all of your own creations.

Participation Level


All of the classes we offer feature groups preparing one or more dishes, contributing to the whole menu prepared by the entire class. Participants should feel comfortable working within a timeframe and from a recipe guided by the instructor, while also learning about the subject and observing other recipes being prepared. Each class will conclude with tasting of all the dishes.
