2022 Chatham Bars Inn Cooking School

Whether you are already an accomplished at-home Chef or someone who has been wanting to sharpen your cooking skills or learn something new, join our Chatham Bars Inn Cooking School. Enjoy a 90 minute uniquely curated culinary experience by one of the talented Chatham Bars Inn Chefs. Each class is structured by hands on teaching of multiple dishes and will end with a family-style dinner showcasing your creations.  Our classes take place every Wednesday and include instruction, tastings and a fully prepared family-style meal. Classes are held 6pm - 8pm through April.

$85 per person and additional $40 per person for Mixology Class
Please note: 17% service charge and tax will automatically be added to each ticket.

Class Schedule:

January 5th - Tuscan Farmhouse Pasta Basics 
Transform eggs and flour into a complete culinary experience that will impress everyone at your next dinner party. In this class we will be focusing on pasta basics and by the end of the class you will have created handmade pappardelle, rolled out cavatelli and mastered making delicious ricotta gnocchi. 

January 12th - Tequila & Tapas - Mixology 

Spanish inspired small plates are a popular format for a casual dinner party. Learn to create a wide-range of mouth-watering tapas. Chef Jackie and our Resort Beverage Director Adam Couto team up to offer you a fantastic opportunity to create beautiful food and pair it with craft cocktails. This class will feature pairing an array of tequila cocktails with chorizo empanadas, grilled lamb chops with salsa verde and patatas bravas! 

January 19th - Plant Based Cuisine Basics

Create some tasty plant based dishes that everyone will enjoy at your table. Learn to build flavor through herbs, spices and cooking with techniques that make vegetables the center of the plate. This class will feature how to cook with tofu, product utilization of leftover produce to make flavorful vegetable stocks. We will also focus on mastering cooking legumes and ancient grains that are a high source of plant based protein. 

February 2nd - Asian Dumplings & Sushi

Master the art of cooking the perfect sushi rice and learn how to make fresh rolls, green curry pork dumplings and create your own maki rolls. Learn the magic of Japanese cuisine, skills and ingredients so that you feel confident in the kitchen.

February 9th - What’s love got to do with it?

Cook a 3-course menu with someone special. Chop, sear and spend the night with the one you love with a romantic style dinner menu. This class is relaxed with minimum difficulty and maximum WOW factor. Leave the class impressing your significant other on your new found skill of elegant food. In this class we will make Chateaubriand with traditional red wine sauce. End the night with chocolate dipped seasonal fruits.

February 16th - Spice it Up! Indian Curries 

The aroma of toasted fragrant spices warms everyone's heart. Learn how to cook Indian inspired dishes that are big on flavor like vegetable samosas, make the perfect jasmine rice for our curries and finish your meal by sipping our traditional Chai Masala Tea.

February 23rd - Bourbon & BBQ - Mixology

Chef Jackie and our Resort Beverage Director Adam Couto team up to offer you a fantastic opportunity to create beautiful food and pair it with craft cocktails. This class will feature smoking techniques you can do yourself at home. Master the art of slow cooking and learn how to make killer BBQ sauces at any spice level you can handle. You can't have BBQ without Bourbon. 

March 9th - So Fresh & So Clean

Bright, cleansing recipes to inspire your inner health-nut and excite your taste buds. Learn how to best utilize local products, upgrading your daily lunch and the mastery of juicing. In this class we will take our traditional favorites and recreate those using nutrient dense and whole foods. We will create quick and easy breakfast bites, quick salad hacks to advance your lunch and make mood boosting juices and smoothies while learning why certain foods can affect you differently throughout the day. 

March 16th - St. Patrick’s Day Feast

You don't have to take an expensive trip across the ocean just to sample the fare from Emerald Isle. In this class we will teach you some fabulous Irish dishes like colcannon and traditional Irish soda bread. We will even make our own banger sausages. You will create a meal that will have everyone at the table cheering "Slainte!"

April 6th - Tuscan Farmhouse Pasta Master Class

Transform eggs and flour into a complete culinary experience that will impress everyone at your next dinner party. Join us while we transform all raw ingredients into incredible pasta dishes. In this class we will be focusing on advanced pasta making. By the end of the class you will have created handmade tortellini, learned how to fill raviolis and mastered the art of extruded pastas.

April 13th - Spring is in the Air 

Fresh from the fields, this spring menu incorporates the best of this week's produce. Learn about the spring harvest and create a meal that is fresh and local. In this class we will be taking a deeper look into all the upcoming spring vegetables and how we can transform and pair them with proteins from local farms. This class will feature a fresh spring pea soup, seared Northeast Family Farms pork chops and pairing that with spring harvest vegetables.

April 20th - Plant Based Cuisine Master Class 

Create some tasty plant based dishes that everyone will enjoy at your table. Learn to build flavor through herbs, spices and cooking with techniques that make vegetables the center of the plate. This class will feature how to cook with jackfruit, learn to make the prefect flatbread and work with cashews to create a vegan twist on cheese.

April 27th - Chatham Seafood & Gin - Mixology 

Chef Jackie and our Resort Beverage Director Adam Couto team up to offer you a fantastic opportunity to create beautiful food and pair it with craft cocktails. This class will feature Gin and Chatham seafood. We will prepare Jonah crab cakes and steamed Chatham mussels. 

Cancellation Policy for  Mixology Classes:
Cancellations received 72 hours or more in advance will incur no charge. For cancellations received 48 – 72 hours in advance, there will be a 50% charge per person. And for cancellations received less than 48 hours in advance, there will be a charge of 100% per person.
