Whale Watching
the perfect setting to accommodate your event needs
Cape Cod and the nearby islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket are some of the most magical places in the world. With miles of ocean beaches, sandy dunes and quaint town centers these unspoiled places have escaped overdevelopment and serve as reminders of the way life used to be.
Located on the elbow of Cape Cod, the town of Chatham features a quaint and walkable Main Street with numerous family owned and operated shops, restaurants and businesses. Chatham has a rich seafaring history, a railroad museum, and summer concerts held in a gazebo on Main Street.

Whale watching in Cape Cod is, for many, the most memorable event of their holiday. When you stay at Chatham Bars Inn, you are very near a whale watch excursion center. From May through October, guests can experience this unique and thrilling adventure.
Your Cape Cod whale watching cruise will take you to the whales' favorite feeding grounds. During your excursion, you will see humpback, finback and minke whales. Trained naturalists will help you spot, identify and learn more about these gentle giants. No words can describe the thrill and awe associated with each sighting. Perhaps you'll see whales breaching (leaping straight out of the water into the air), spyhopping (holding their heads high out of the water as if having a look around) or sounding (executing a dive). Sometimes, a whale will slap the water with its flippers as if greeting you.
